Lead tutor, Chris Southern has a relaxed approach and facilitates a vibrant class in an open creative atmosphere.

Supported by Iza Lozano, whose works are inspired in archaeological objects from multiple cultural origins. Using the potter´s wheel as her main tool and terracotta or stoneware clay, she creates contrasting volumes as segments that are later assembled to constitute intricate shapes, which are often burnished with the help of rocks, spoons, and/or blades, leaving a smooth surface, naked clay and the trace of an orbital motion.

Students must:

  • Bring their own clay tools (some are available for purchase in the office)

  • Purchase their own clay (available at ASP)

  • Firing and glazes at student cost

  • Provide own dust mask and gloves for glazing

Please note:

  • ASP is only able to fire clay brands/types that ASP stock

  • Clean up and set up times are within the 3 hours allocated for class time - any pre or post studio time must be signed in and paid for at the office.
