About the works:
Sarah Walker-Holt, contemporary jeweller and Jo Raill, ceramicist met 8 years ago when they were part of the Left Field Art Collective. They had always talked about working together and X>1 provided the perfect opportunity.
During the Collaborative process we met 8 times. Initially we set boundaries about colour palette and types of materials to be used. In the first meeting we decided to make predominantly wall works. There were many reciprocal studio visits, learning of new making processes, sharing of knowledge and lunch. We made together on these visits and bounced off each other’s ideas. Some pieces were remade 3 or 4 times, at our separate studios, as we problem solved and worked through the making process.
