the unwanted pot project

The Unwanted Pot Project" comprises a collection of 32 ceramic pieces (from espresso cups to bowls), hand-painted by the artist Catherine Guevara. These pieces were crafted on the pottery wheel by ceramic students of all levels.
As a Ceramic Educator, Catherine has access to the vast resources that pottery studios retain and simultaneously discard in the course of their daily operations. These are some of those.
"The Unwanted Pot Project" is a call to those often overlooked creators who, due to their imperfections or the demands of life, never retrieved or completed their creative works. It is a resounding call to mindfulness, prompting us to consider the investment of time, effort, and energy in the ordinary facets of existence, as well as those endeavours that demand special dedication and process.
Functioning as a form of processual art, these pieces belong to the ceramic community. They advocate for the growing practices of sharing, recycling, and reclamation. A heartfelt thank you is extended to the anonymous makers whose creations stand as repositories of intimate dialogues—both as the canvas of an artist's expression and as subjects of discourse for discerning critics.
