Eric Landon, potter and co-founder of Tortus Copenhagen, will be visiting New Zealand in April this year. You may know Eric from his highly successful Instagram account @Tortus.
A master potter and designer, Eric's love for wheel thrown pottery started at age 16 and has evolved over 25 years into a way of life. For Eric, shaping objects by hand is not a look back at the past. He firmly believes that hand-crafting objects of a timeless value is a way forward.
Eric is a graduate of the Danish school of Design in Copenhagen and has been awarded with a number of grants, international exhibition selections and awards, including Craftsman of the Year at Denmark’s Design Awards in 2015 for the quality of his work.
Eric Landon will make 10 vessel types giving a unique and comprehensive look at the techniques he applies at the wheel to make all of his work. The workshop will cover a series of vases, bottles and bowls, introducing you to tricks that will allow you to get more out of your wheel.
The workshop is from 9am-4pm both days and includes a 40 minute lunch break.
Cost: $595 NZD including materials
Does not include firing of work. This must be organised with the studio.
